The Skinners’ School in Tunbridge Wells was founded with an endowment in 1887. It is a voluntary-aided boys’ Grammar School with 700+ on roll. Pupils are admitted by ability through the Kent Selection tests.
The School's performance in public examinations has been consistently very good both at A Level and at GCSE, making it one of the top performing boys’ schools every year, both in Kent and nationally. In 2005 it achieved Specialist School Status as a Specialist Science School.
Much of the original building has been refurbished over the last few years and an appeal for funds to develop a new sports hall is currently in progress.
