Percy Bilton Court

Percy Bilton Court consists of 38 self-contained, one-bedroom flats, each suitable for a couple or a single person. With one exception, all flats are either on the ground or first floor. Each flat has:

  • A bedroom
  • A fitted kitchen
  • Bathroom (some with level access showers)
  • A living room

All properties are linked to an intercom alarm system and have full central heating. Some flats are wheelchair accessible.

Percy Bilton Court also provides:

  • A Common Room for social activities and meetings
  • A laundry and
  • Overnight guest room

The flats and common areas have been built around courtyard spaces which boast some very attractive gardens.

Percy Bilton Court has been designed to provide convenient and comfortable accommodation for older people in a setting which allows residents to come and go as they please.

Residents are encouraged to make friends and share as wide a social life as they wish through use of the Common Room and other facilities. There is a resident Warden, an Assistant Warden and an emergency call system in each home. In an emergency, such as sudden illness, after a fall or when a stranger comes to the door, a resident can get help easily and quickly.

Percy Bilton Court is an almshouse, governed by an almshouse charity. This means that the people who live there are not tenants, but beneficiaries of the Hunt & Almshouse Charity. As such, they need to meet certain eligibility requirements, particularly in relation to their age (usually over 60), their housing need and personal finances.
