The programme for making grants to individuals is due to re-open in late May 2009.
The Charity is currently undertaking a major review of all its grant-making priorities and procedures, so that funds reach those in greatest need. This means that our criteria and guidelines are likely to change quite substantially. Please see below for further details.
Our Review
Lawrence Atwell’s Charity is about to change the way it makes grants. We had hoped to re-launch in April. Unfortunately, due to the current economic conditions and the comprehensive nature of the review, we need to delay our re-launch until late May. We apologise for this delay.
Will you be eligible?
Our new guidelines have not yet been finalised. However, we do not think we will be able to consider funding students on undergraduate or postgraduate degree courses. In fact, we shall probably only be able to help people.
Short questionnaire
If you meet these criteria and think that you may be eligible for funding, you are welcome to complete a pre-application questionnaire either by e-mail or by post to the
Charities Officer at Skinners Hall. Please be advised though that we
will not be able to respond to this information until after after mid-May 2009.
Due to the high number of enquiries we have already received, we would ask you to be patient and wait for our response after this date. We will not keep anyone waiting longer than necessary.
How you can find out more
When the Charity re-opens, we will be inviting applications for the 2009/10 academic year, and for short courses beginning after June 2009. The new application guidelines will be available on this website in late May.
